Who built it
The Should I Refinance Yet Teambuilt this tool after going through the refinance decision firsthand and finding that most online calculators either oversimplify the math or are attached to a lender trying to sell a specific product. Should I Refinance Yet is independent: it doesn't sell loans, and the analysis doesn't change based on which lender you might choose.
How the numbers are calculated
Every analysis and blog post on this site is reviewed before publishing. The mortgage math (amortization, break-even, and savings calculations) is deterministic and open to inspection: if a number on this site looks wrong, it's a bug we want to know about, not a rounding trick to make refinancing look more or less attractive than it is.
